Why are we needed?
Engineering services can make up 30-50% of the project value, but there is often no specialist expertise employed to deal with them.
Any lack of experience, or ‘gap’ in the services offered by design team members, or the contractor and consultant, will often cause disputes, resulting in cost to the client. This is a common problem most of us have encountered.
With the use of design and build contracts, and the numerous variants available, there are even more pressures put on the engineering services as design is often left too late in the overall procurement/coordination process and demarcation of responsibilities is unclear.
Blackart operatives have the necessary experience to take responsibility, fill this ‘gap’ and bring clarity to the process.
How do we integrate with the team?
The idea is that we support and assist the team by demystifying the engineering jargon to allow a greater understanding. Educated and informed decisions can then be made, in a collaborative manner.
We feel it is important that we understand all elements of the design and procurement to enable us to support all team members throughout the project, so our team have extensive knowledge of contractual requirements, design, procurement, installation and the operation of engineering services.
